Grace Pillar Clock
Good Directions
LTD has launched a new Pillar Clock called the ‘Grace’ to add to its already
impressive range of eight standard designs. The inception of this design came
about by the company being asked to manufacture a more decorative pillar clock,
which kept in line with their traditional designs and values but promised a
more customisable design that could be used for promotional purposes.
The shape and
design of the ‘Grace’ took inspiration from their best seller the ‘Albert’
Pillar clock, with the base and middle section keeping the same design, but the
dial box was redesigned for a more personal touch by adding “scroll” panels
above and below the clocks suitable for adding sign writing. Manufacturing a
Pillar Clock such as the ‘Grace’ not only allowed for signage to be a default
option on this Pillar Clock, but it also allows customers to create synergy
around existing design choices customers may have on their establishments.
The ‘Grace’ is
particularly popular among Golf Clubs and Town Centres who want a design which
can easily slot into their existing aesthetics of the local décor. Golf courses
tend to go for this clock as having the signage panels on top and bottom allows
them to display their Club name, dates or whatever they desire. The dials
themselves can also have bespoke sign writing applied to it, allowing for sponsorship
opportunities.
Town centres are
similarly fond of the ‘Grace’ placing it in the centre of their town square,
with the name of the town proudly on display and choosing to have the pillar in
the same colour as other surrounding street furniture. Good Directions approach
to design and customisation is that of you are only limited by your
imagination.
Coming in at a
standard height of either 3400mm with 460mm dials or 3850mm high with 610mm
dials, this Pillar Clock will stand out amongst busy areas and allows for
better visibility of the clocks themselves. The dial housing is manufactured
out of GRP to create the desired shape whilst keeping the top of the pillar
lightweight yet incredibly strong and hardwearing.
The weight and
strength of the pillar clock comes from the central post and the base being
manufactured in mild steel and cast iron respectively. All these components can
be finished in any RAL or British Standard colour.
The dials
themselves can either be acrylic or GRP. Customers opt for GRP when wanting one
solid colour to match the pillar. However, customers who are looking to back
illuminate the clocks will need acrylic dials, this provides fantastic
visibility at all times of the day and all year round too.
All their Pillar
Clocks as standard are powered by 240v mains high torque Brass and Stainless
Steel clock mechanisms, complete with a controller to automatically restart the
clocks after power cuts and alter them at the summer and winter time changes.
However, if mains power isn’t an option they also supply lithium battery
operated versions.
This Pillar Clock
was loosely inspired by an American based design from the late 1800’s, from
renowned clock company E. Howard & Co. Further aligning with Good
Directions LTD desire to promote heritage and create timeless, classic clocks.
The ‘Grace’ Pillar
Clock gets its name from Good Directions LTD’s on-going tradition of naming their
Pillar Clocks after royalty, or words closely associated with Royalty. It was
also imperative to choose a feminine and powerful name as this Pillar Clock is
elegant and decorative, as opposed to the more rustic nature of the other
Pillar Clocks that Good Directions LTD manufactures.
The Grace Pillar
is the latest in a long line of products which cements the companies position as
a world renowned clock designer and manufacturer.
